Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition Launched in Kenya this week

On November 24, the Kenyan Ministry of Health, together with Aga Khan Foundation, Amref, Hellen Keller, Map International, Micronutrient Initiative, World Vision and Action Against Hunger / Action Contre La Faim, launched the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, Child Health and Nutrition (PMNCHN) in Kenya.

Goals of this partnership include strengthening health systems in Kenya, reducing child morbidity and mortality among children under five, reducing maternal and child mortality, and reducing the burden of diseases for women and children.

Our Executive Director Danny Glenwright was present at the launch, along with Canada’s Ambassador in Kenya.

Through the System Enhancement for Transformative Health (SETH) project Action Against Hunger (ACF) and Helen Keller International (HKI are implementing a three year project to contribute to reduction of maternal and child morbidity and mortality in Kenya. The initiative will seek to strengthen the health systems of 5 counties in Kenya, namely: Kakamega, Busia, Bungoma, Trans Nzoia and West Pokot.
